Agartala: Dec 18: MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has expressed his concern over the anti-India rhetoric from the advisors of Bangladesh’s interim government, warning them to recognize their limits. In a pointed social media post, Pradyot criticized the provocative statements made by these officials, accusing them of jeopardizing their own country’s future. He specifically cautioned that their remarks could have serious repercussions for Bangladesh, particularly in terms of its relations with India.
Pradyot highlighted the significant changes in the geopolitical landscape since 1971, noting that while India was instrumental in the creation of Bangladesh, the current situation is markedly different. India, he pointed out, has grown considerably stronger, while Bangladesh appears to be faltering, particularly in its treatment of its founding figure, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. According to Pradyot, a country that fails to honor its founder is on a perilous path.
He also emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights and safety of minorities in Bangladesh. Pradyot warned that India would take necessary steps to support the marginalized groups within Bangladesh, even if it meant crossing borders to offer moral and financial support. His statement underscores India’s growing concern for the protection of minority communities and highlights the potential for direct intervention if the situation worsens.
Through these remarks, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma is sending a strong message to Bangladesh’s government advisors, cautioning them against provocative actions that could destabilize the region and harm the interests of minorities in Bangladesh.
