Agartala: Dec 10: The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest 2024 was officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at Narkelkunja on December 3, with around 25,000 people from across the district attending the event. The second phase of the fest took place at Neermahal on December 9, where thousands more gathered, and the long-closed light and sound show was also relaunched on this occasion.
However, the main highlight of the promo fest will be held on December 14 at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala. This event is expected to draw a historic crowd, as renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal is set to perform. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury confirmed this during a press conference at Geetaanjali Guest House on Tuesday, where he outlined the details for the main event.
To ensure the event’s success, multiple administrative meetings have taken place, including a review session with officials. The most notable change for the main event will be the introduction of an anti-pass system, which aims to manage access without charging attendees. There will be three types of anti-passes, each color-coded to correspond with specific entrance gates. These passes will be available from December 11, and attendees will not be required to pay for them. Minister Chowdhury emphasized that selling passes for money is strictly prohibited, and anyone attempting to do so should be reported to the department and police.
The press conference also saw the participation of Uttam Kumar Chakma, Secretary of the Tourism Department, and officials from the police department, who joined in emphasizing the commitment to a smooth and organized event.
