Agartala: Dec 04: Though on the verge of extinction, IPFT has suddenly awakened like a dormant volcano. On Wednesday, IPFT organized a procession in Dokmali Bazar in Khumulung, followed by a rally. IPFT president Prem Kumar Reang was present. Speaking to the media, he said that IPFT’s annual program is being organized today in Khumulung. This program is organized every December. The main demand is for Tipraland.
The party has been adamant about this demand since 2009. Then, after the change of government in the state in 2018, the current government had made various promises for the development of the tribal people and ADCs. But none of those promises have been fulfilled. They demanded the government to implement them quickly. At the same time, they demanded the government to form a separate state of Tipraland.
On the other hand, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, while participating in the party program, said that the existence of the tribal people is in danger. Seeing the atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh, the tribals of the state are very concerned. Because if the tribals become endangered, they fear that such incidents may happen to them as well. So, he claimed that they have focused on how to implement the demand for a separate state, keeping in mind the safety of the tribals. Deputations have been submitted to the ministers of the Indian government from time to time. He said that they are again demanding from the government today to fulfill this demand immediately. Hundreds of IPFT workers and supporters participated in today’s program.
