Agartala, October 14: The grand Durga Puja carnival ‘Mayer Gomon 2024,’ organized by the Tripura government’s ICA department, marked a colorful conclusion to this year’s celebrations on Monday.
More than 45 community puja clubs participated in the carnival, which featured a vibrant display of traditional Bengali and indigenous cultural performances, including songs and dances.
Chief Minister Manik Saha, along with Mayor of Agartala, Ministers and dignitaries, flagged off the grand procession from a stage set up opposite to the historic Coronation Gate, a nod to Tripura’s royal heritage.
Idols from various clubs were paraded through the streets on elaborately decorated lorries, accompanied by lively music, as organizers proudly walked alongside.
Large number of people gathered on both sides of the streets to witness the colorful procession which is set to conclude with the immersion of the idols at Dasamighat, where the Agartala Municipal Corporation has made extensive arrangements for a smooth and eco-friendly immersion process.
