Agartala, Tripura – Sept 03: Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman has urged the Parliamentary Affairs Minister to hold an urgent short-term discussion on the flood situation in the Assembly in the presence of the Chief Minister.
The proposal was made on the first day of the Assembly session, which started today. However, no decision was taken due to the urgency of starting the question-answer session.
The Chief Minister’s absence in Delhi for peace talks with NLFT and ATTF was cited as a reason for not taking a decision on the proposal. Sudip Roy Barman has requested that the discussion be held tomorrow or Friday, once the Chief Minister returns.
The Congress MLA has emphasized the need for an urgent discussion on the flood situation, which has affected several parts of the state. The discussion is expected to focus on the government’s response to the floods and measures to provide relief to affected areas.
A decision on the proposal is expected soon, with the Assembly session scheduled to continue in the coming days. The opposition is likely to press for an urgent discussion on the flood situation, given its severity and impact on the state.
