Agartala, Sep 01: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing PMNRF ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the floods and Rs 50,000 for the seriously injured.
Addressing a press conference here at the party headquarter on Sunday, the BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said, “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government at the Centre had responded promptly to the devastating flood situation of the state of Tripura and approved the release of Rs 40 crore in advance, as the central share from SDRF, to provide relief to the flood-affected people.”
“The Prime Minister later announced ex-gratia relief for the flood victims and for the next of kin of the people, who lost their lives in the flood,” he added.
The party also thanked the governments of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal, Assam and Chhattisgarh for standing by the flood victims of the state through their assistance to the Tripura government.
On the other hand, the BJP spokesperson thanked the Tripura government over the recruitment drive as announced in the cabinet briefing on Saturday last. He said, “This signifies that the government always stand by the people in odd situation and this government works on humanitarian ground.”
