Agartala: August 04: In response to recent violent incidents in Bangladesh, where five journalists have been killed and several others injured, journalist organizations in Tripura have expressed strong condemnation. These incidents, which also include attempts to ban over fifty journalists, are seen as violations of the principles of free journalism.
Today, various journalist organizations in Tripura wore black badges to honor the memory of the journalists who lost their lives in Bangladesh. They have called on the interim government of Bangladesh to immediately restore the freedom of the press and ensure that journalists can work without fear or obstacles.

They have also encouraged all journalists in Tripura to wear black badges in solidarity with their colleagues in Bangladesh.
