Agartala: August 14: Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha called for a united effort to resist anti-national forces and strengthen the nation’s integrity, sovereignty, and harmony. Speaking at the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ program organized by the district administration in Ramchandraghat, Khowai district, on Wednesday, ahead of the 78th Independence Day, he highlighted the importance of unity among various castes, tribes, and communities.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, he noted, aims to pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence and to protect its sovereignty and integrity. The event featured a massive rally with the national flag, starting from Ramchandraghat Chowmuhani and concluding at Battali High School, where the main program was held.
Dr. Saha reminded attendees that India has celebrated Independence Day with respect since August 15, 1947. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2022 call for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which encourages every household to hoist the national flag in tribute to the nation’s heroes.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the successful implementation of the campaign in the state in 2022 and 2023, and its continuation this year. He referenced the recent Chief Ministers’ conclave in Delhi, where Prime Minister Modi reiterated the importance of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
The event was attended by Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, MLA Ranjit Debbarma, Khowai District Magistrate Chandrani Chandran, the Superintendent of Police, other public representatives, administrative officials, and a large number of students.
