Agartala, June 10: Hundreds of job aspirants from across Tripura gathered in front of the Tripura Police headquarters in Agartala on Monday to protest the delay in the recruitment process for police constables.
The protesters demanded immediate completion of the recruitment process to fill 1,000 constable vacancies for both men and women, a process that began in 2021.
The aspirants highlighted that the physical tests were completed two snd a half years ago and the written exams were conducted earlier this year. However, the results are yet to be declared, causing significant delays in the recruitment process.
They argued that this delay is detrimental to deserving candidates as they age and lose opportunities.
The protesters insisted that the recruitment process should be completed immediately.
They expressed a desire to meet with higher police officials involved in the recruitment to voice their concerns directly.
They also complained about the lack of communication regarding the progress of the recruitment process.
The delay has exacerbated the issue of unemployment in the state, with many educated youths either unemployed or working in underpaid jobs to support their families.
The aspirants called for the intervention of the Chief Minister to expedite the recruitment process and ensure its swift completion.
