Agartala: May 25: The Kalyanpur Pramodnagar Assembly Constituency is abuzz with political activity as Nayak Mandal President Jiban Debnath faces official removal from his post. Recent controversies surrounding Debnath have sparked intense discussions within the ruling party.
After partial revelations about Debnath’s exploits were published in various morning newspapers across the state, complaints have poured in from the entire Mandal area. Scandals and alleged wrongdoings have earned Debnath the moniker of a “PhD in almost everything,” according to local sources.
As responsible journalists, we aim to inform the public about Debnath’s achievements. However, the focus now shifts to his successor. Political theorists in the area highlight two prominent contenders: Somen Gop, the current Panchayat Samiti Chairman, and Nitai Ball from Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Shakti Kendra.
Somen Gop boasts extensive administrative experience and previously served as the president of the Yuva Morcha district committee. His potential appointment as Mandal President would not be surprising given his track record.
Meanwhile, Nitai Ball, a longstanding leader associated with the Abam movement, enjoys widespread acceptance among BJP supporters in the entire Mandal area. Although internal dynamics remain uncertain, it is clear that Debnath’s removal opens the door for both Gop and Ball to vie for the coveted position.
As the race unfolds, time will reveal who will lead the Kalyanpur Pramodnagar Assembly Constituency into the future.
