Agartala, April 11:Thousands of Muslims congregated at the Gedu Mia mosque in Agartala on Thursday to offer morning prayers, marking the end of Ramadan with the sighting of the crescent moon.
The Eid prayers was led by Imam Maulana Abdul Rehaman, who emphasized global peace in his special prayer.
The atmosphere was filled with embraces and exchanges of goodwill, transcending religious boundaries, as expressed by participant Syed Sajjad Ali, highlighting the inclusive nature of Eid celebrations in Tripura.
The event drew not only locals but also Muslims from outside the state, united in prayer and festivity.
With prayers held in 20 mosques in Agartala and around 400 locations across Tripura, Maulana emphasized the significance of peace and unity, echoing the teachings of Islam.
Eid, a joyous occasion after a month of fasting, symbolizes love and harmony, with prayers for the well-being of the nation and its people.
Following prayers, customary embraces and Eid greetings were exchanged, with Muslims traditionally celebrating by wearing new clothes and spending time outdoors with family, emphasizing the values of love and brotherhood inherent in the festival.
