Agartala, December 23: Candidates who appeared for the Selection Test For Graduate Teachers (STGT) examination organized by the Teachers Recruitment Board of Tripura (TRBT) in 2022 staged a protest in front of Ujjayanta Palace, urging the immediate release of examination results and the selection of qualified candidates for teaching positions in government schools.
Brandishing posters, the agitators expressed frustration over the prolonged delay in result publication, emphasizing that over one year and four months have elapsed since the examination.
They viewed despite previous assurances from the then Education Minister attributing the delay to a court case, the issue persists even after its resolution.
The protestors highlighted the consequences of the delay, asserting that many candidates are now at risk of aging out of eligibility for government jobs.
They added that those who took education loans for completing their BEd degree, a prerequisite for the teacher eligibility examination, find themselves unemployed and struggling to repay the loans as banks are sending notices.
The agitators appealed to Dr. Manik Saha, who serves as both Chief Minister and Education Minister, to swiftly address the issue.
They stressed the urgency of completing the recruitment process, emphasizing its crucial role in resolving the shortage of teachers in government schools and safeguarding the future of aspiring educators and also the students who offer are found agitating in roads on demand of resolving the issue of shortage of teachers.
