Agartala October 29: The people of Tripura, a marginal hill state, have improved in terms of education. Although people have improved, their sense of humanity has decreased. One such incident took place on the night of Lakshmi Puja in Mungiakami police station area.
It is known that a minor of Thana area along with another minor girlfriend and two friends left home to eat Prasad of Lakshmi Puja. After going some distance from the house, a young man named Kshitish Devvarma showed fear and dragged two friends along with another minor who was with the minor. Then Kshitish Debbarma along with his accomplices Ajay Debbarma and Subikas Debbarma forcefully took the minor to a secluded place in the east. The three accused gang-raped the minor throughout the night. On Sunday morning, the minor returned home and told the family about the incident.
The minor’s family rushed to the Mungiakami police station with the minor. and filed a case against the accused. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Teliamura sub-division said that after a case was registered at the police station, the police arrested the accused Kshitish Debbarma, Ajay Debbarma and Subikas Debbarma. Their age is between 18 and 20 years. A case has been registered against them under the POCSO Act. They will be produced in court on Monday. Meanwhile, after a case was filed at the police station, the police took the minor to the hospital for medical examination. Apart from arresting the accused, the police are continuing the investigation into the incident. The Mungiakami police station is in frenzy over the incident. Demands have been made to give severe punishment to the accused.
