Economic prosperity along with sustainable, inclusive and eco-friendly environment need to be created: Chief Minister
Agartala, October 4: Creating an enabling environment is essential for sustainable, inclusive and ecological balance along with economic prosperity. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while officially inaugurating the exhibition and competition titled ‘Sustainable Development: An Effort Towards a Better Tomorrow’ organized at Holy Cross School premises in Agartala today.
On this day, he said, it is possible to build a better future through sustainable development. For this we want the collective efforts of all. The theme of the G20 under India’s presidency was ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ reminding us that we are part of one world one family and one future. This ancient philosophy also reflects that the world is a family and is interconnected and interdependent.
He also said that the G20 summit focused on strong, sustainable, inclusive development and balanced growth issues which are in line with our philosophy and policies. The Chief Minister called upon all to resolve to create an environment conducive to sustainable, inclusive and ecological balance along with economic prosperity.
In the event, the Chief Minister also said that this type of initiative of Holycross School reflects the sense of responsibility and awareness of the educational institutions towards the future generation. Around 15 schools in Agartala are participating in the Inter School Science and Humanities Exhibition and Competition. Innovative topics presented in exhibitions and competitions will inspire the youth to develop their talents and skills.
