East Agartala police busted a gang of burglars on Tuesday and arrested five gang members beside recovering stolen items mainly electronics goods said a senior police official here.
Dr Kiran Kumar, superintendent of police, West Tripura district said that since last few days incidents of burglary had increased in the jurisdiction of East Agartala police station and so a team was formed under the leadership of SDPO Sadar.
He added that today the team had raided in some areas in the capital Agartala and arrested five persons along with stolen goods.
The SP said that police recovered four laptops, two smart phone, a LED television, a dismantled bike along with its engine and 42 iron rod rings.
He added that police shall produce all of the them in the court with appeal for police remand for their interrogation.
The SP informed that investigation is underway and police is in search of one more companion of those arrested and anticipating more recoveries and involvement of more gang members.
It may be added here that in recent months police from East Agartala police station had arrested several bike lifters beside recovery of stolen bikes, jewellery and electronics goods.
