Agartala: Sept 08: In Boxanagar constituency BJP candidate Tafazzal Hossain got 33849 votes and CPM candidate got 3884 votes. BJP candidate Tafazzbal Hossain won by a margin of 30326 votes in Boxanagar. In Dhanpur, BJP candidate Bindu Debnath got 29698 votes and CPM candidate got 11073 votes. BJP candidate Bindu Debnath won by a margin of 18625 votes in Dhanpur. Bindu Debnath won by more votes than BJP candidate Pratima Bhowmik in the last assembly election in Dhanpur. As previously announced, no counting agents were present in the counting of votes on Friday. There was tight security in the two Assembly constituencies in the run-up to the counting. Central security forces were in charge of security at the counting centre. Besides, TSR and Tripura Police were in charge of local security. Chief Minister Manik Saha thanked the people of Boxanagar and Dhanpur for this victory in the by-election.
The Chief Minister said on his social media that this victory is the victory of development and good governance. Which is a reflection of the growing support of the people for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party All India President Jagat Prakash Nadda.
