Agartala: Aug 17: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates for both Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly constituencies which are scheduled to undergo by-polls on September 05 submitted their nominations in Sonamura in Sepahijala district on Thursday.
Senior party leaders including Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Tinku Roy, Sushanta Chowdhury, Santana Chakma and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharji were present to take part in the nomination submission process and campaign of the candidates.
The party’s central election committee had approved Tafajjal Hossain as candidate for Boxanagar assembly constituency and Bindu Debnath from Dhanpur assembly seat.
BJP had already stated its campaign for its candidates and after a public meeting a colourful rally was was organised in Sonamura as both the candidates went for submission of nomination papers.
BJP leaders expressed that people of the state have confidence on the developmental activities under the double engine government led by PM Midi at the center and Dr Manik Saha in the state as so there is no doubt that both the candidates shall be winning in the coming by-election to be held on September 5.
The also viewed that the opposition parties are conspiring to defeat BJP candidates but people of the state know them and so do not have any faith on the opposition parties which are opportunists and do not have any ideology.
