Agartala, July 27:As Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 14th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme during a launching program at Rajasthan’s Sikar town on Thursday, Tripura’s Agriculture Minister, Ratan Lal Nath, expressed that Tripura is also benefiting from this initiative.
Nath said that as part of the 14th installment, 2,19,708 farmers from the state will receive a total sum of rupees 43,94,11,000 directly into their bank accounts.
He added that this latest release contributes to a nationwide distribution of rupees 18,000 crore, benefitting approximately 8.5 crore farmers.
The Minister said over the course of 14 installments of the PM-KISAN scheme, Tripura’s farmers have received a total of rupees 599,38,90,000, which has significantly supported them in doubling their income and achieving self-reliance.
The Agriculture Minister, accompanied by senior department officials, observed the program led by Prime Minister Modi, wherein several development projects in Sikar, Rajasthan, were inaugurated and dedicated to the nation.
These projects included the establishment of more than 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs), the launch of “Urea Gold” – a new variety of Urea coated with Sulphur, and the onboarding of 1600 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
Furthermore, during the event, along with the release of the 14th installment of PM-KISAN scheme the occasion also saw the inauguration of five new medical colleges in Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Sirohi, Sikar, and Sri Ganganagar, and the laying of foundation stones for seven medical colleges in Baran, Bundi, Karauli, Jhunjhunu, Sawai Madhopur, Jaisalmer, and Tonk.
Additionally, six Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Udaipur, Banswara, Partapgarh, and Dungarpur, along with Kendriya Vidyalaya Tivri, Jodhpur, were inaugurated during the program.
