Agartala, July 17: The drug destruction was held in connection with National Conference on Drug Trafficking and National security: Focus on Northern region under Chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah held today at New Delhi.
The entire destruction process was live streamed from across the nation and which was monitored by the Union Home Minister.
All total drugs worth Rs. 9.31 crores was destroyed at RK Nagar in the outskirt of Agartala under tight security.
The drug destruction was held by the High Level and the State Level Drug disposal Committees in Tripura.
These drugs were seized by various security agencies in the recent past in the state.
The drugs which were destroyed on the day here consist of Ganja (cannabis) 5473.12 Kgs – value Rs. 2,7365600, 5138 bottles of Codine based Cough Syrup -value Rs. 955668, 19313 Yaba tablets – value Rs. 965650, and 6381.43 grams of heroin – value Rs.63814300.
