Agartala, July: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest rally in Agartala, alleging that Opposition MLAs attempted to disrupt the recently concluded Budget Session in the Assembly.
Dipak Majumder, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and senior BJP leader, said that a group of Opposition MLAs conspired against the Chief Minister and sought to disrupt the Budget Session.
He expressed concern that the integrity of the Assembly had been compromised by these Opposition MLAs, prompting the BJP to organize protests across the state with the participation of the people.
In Agartala the protest rally commenced from Rabindra Bhavan, where protesters raised slogans against the Opposition, and proceeded through the streets of the capital city.
