Agartala July 5: Water accumulated on the road from Battala Shiv Mandir in the capital to Dasmighat has been causing extreme suffering to the pedestrians for the past few days. Mayor Deepak Majumder visited the area on Wednesday. Pur Nigam Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Yadav was also present. Mayor Deepak Majumdar, who inspected the plight of the people, told the media that rainwater from the flyover was entering the road towards the JPC Club and Jayanagar Yuva Sanstha Club. As a result, water accumulates on the road.
The matter was inspected today and directed to reform the drainage system so that the water can be discharged into the Kalapaniya Canal. Besides, visiting Battala market today, he said that dishonest traders have done some illegal work. Such activities will be stopped in the market. From today, the corporation will be dismantled. No such illegal activity can be done in any market in Agartala city. He also said that the marbles will be raffled according to the demands of fish traders and buyers. Even then, if there is difficulty, then Pur Nigam will think of an alternative. Later went to visit the abandoned site of Howrah river at Dasmighat. And work is going on to develop this wasteland of Howrah river as part of smart city. The workers on duty there will leave the place before Mahalaya.
