In response to the escalating violence and deaths during recent communal clashes in Manipur, a candlelight demonstration was held in Agartala’s Abhoynagar area on Sunday.
The event, organized by the Puthiba Welfare and Cultural Society in collaboration with the All Tripura Meitei Community, drew hundreds of participants from different backgrounds and age groups, including women.
The demonstrators voiced their solidarity against the killings of innocent civilians and urged the Manipur state government and the central government to take immediate action to halt the violence and restore peace in Manipur.
Carrying placards with slogans such as “no separate administration” and “save territorial integrity of Manipur,” they emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among all communities.
Notably, the candlelight demonstration saw active participation from both the local Manipuri inhabitants of Tripura and those from Manipur residing in the area for educational or employment purposes.
