Agartala, May 3
The government is determined to provide uninterrupted power service to the state by keeping it free from load shedding. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this after examining various issues related to services at the head office of Bidyut Nigam in North Banmalipur on Saturday. The minister told the officials of the corporation that when people are panting in the heat, there should be no problem in the service sector, the minister also ordered to give priority to this matter. The power minister said that the current demand for electricity has exceeded the demand during Durga Puja. Last Thursday, electricity consumption in the state was 344 MW. Which is this year’s record. He said that even during Durga Puja, so much electricity is not used. The state has to buy electricity from other states at a very high price due to the increase in electricity consumption in excess of the regular demand. The main goal of the state government is to ensure that people do not suffer from lack of electricity in this summer. But at the same time, the minister also said that although it is very regrettable, some people have increased the consumption of electricity by keeping the power corporation asleep. Which is not consistent at all. He said, based on the electricity demand, every family has the opportunity to get single phase, double phase or triple phase connection. It has been seen that some electricity consumers with single phase connection are installing AC machines in their homes due to their needs, sometimes installing two or three machines, many are using AC intermittently increased the number of refrigerators. However, due to non-notification of the power corporation, the corporation is not able to take necessary measures including determining the load of the transformer in that area. Due to the excessive use of electricity by people, transformers are breaking down in different areas, sometimes other parts are getting burnt. Which is taking some time to fix. And by this, the suffering of common consumers is increasing. In this regard, the power minister has requested the power consumers of all levels of the state to inform the power corporation before using excess power. In other words, before using the devices that will consume extra electricity at home, office or factory, shop, you have to get permission from the corporation. In this way, the corporation authorities will be alert in advance about transformers and other service providers in the area. Otherwise, the people of the entire area have to suffer from power outage due to the frequent breakdown of parts. The minister visited the 1912 call center again on this day. The minister also requested the customers to wait patiently if they do not call this number for service related issues. Besides 1912, the minister said that even if complaints are made on WhatsApp number 9863596081, they will be dealt with in the same way. By downloading the Bidyut Bandhu app from the Google Play Store, all other services including bill payment and reporting any complaints are available. Also has @TSECLCCare Twitter facility. Also anyone can report any service related complaint as well as avail all kinds of service related benefits by visiting Tripura State Electricity Corporation website www.tsecl.in.
