Agartala, June 02: A forty-hour long training program on mediation was concluded at Tripura Judicial Academy (TJA) here on Friday. The State Mediation Committee in association with MCPC, Supreme Court of India organized the workshop in which a total of 25 nos. of judicial officers and lawyers took part. The valedictory session was attended by Chief Justice AK Singh along with Justice TA Goud and Justice Arindam Lodh. In his address, Justice Singh threw light on the core aspects of alternative dispute resolution mechanism and opined, “Lawyers representing parties must be a patient listener to provide best assistance in the mediation process”. He batted for adoption of problem-solving approach in the interest of parties. The training was imparted by mediator trainers- Nisha Saxena, Sachin Jain and Monika Jalota. The vote of thanks was given by Ms Jhuma Datta Choudhury, Secretary of High Court Legal Services Authority. Among others, Member Secretary of TSLSA DM Jamatia, Registrar General Viswajeet Pandey, TJA Director S Datta Purakayastha and Principal Secretary Dhiman Debbarma were present at the program.
