Towards marketing the sweet organic queen pineapples of Tripura in order to increase the farmers income, the Launching Ceremony of Tripura Organic Pineapples was held at Dilli Haat in the nation capital on Thursday.
Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar, in presence of his Tripura counterpart Ratan Lal Nath, inaugurated the launching program in presence of senior officials of centre and the Tripura government.
Department of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare of the Tripura government jointly with the Sikkim State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd (SIMFED), Government of Sikkim has taken the initiative of marketing the pineapples of Tripura.
Tripura produces two varieties of pineapple – Kew and Queen and the Queen variety which has distinct flavor and taste is recognised as the official state fruit of Tripura.
