Agartala, May 15 (H): 6000 metric tonnes of pulses will arrive in Tripura in next 15 to 20 days. Government of Tripura will purchase the pulses from Central Government owned companies. Tripura’s Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushant Chowdhury said this at the secretariat today afternoon. He added that there is no shortage of rice in Tripura.On this day, he said, today a video conference was held with the District Magistrates and Sub-Divisional Magistrates of North Tripura and Unkoti districts regarding the latest quantity of rice and pulses stored in the warehouses of Food Department in North Tripura and Unkoti districts.He claimed that there is no shortage of rice in Tripura at present. In the next 15-20 days, 6000 metric tonnes of pulses will reach the warehouses of the state. The rice will be purchased from the central government owned company. Moreover, the officials of the food department have been instructed to stock food before the specified time, he said.
