For the second time the schedule visit of interlocutor AK Mishra to Tripura has been cancelled on Friday said sources.
Tripura’s principal opposition TIPRA Motha party chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma only two day back after talks with union Home Minister Amit Shah at New Delhi had informed that interlocutor AK Mishra, who has been tasked with the job to mediate between TIPRA Motha and the government of India, shall reach Agartala on May 12.
Mishra, was suppose to arrive here from Manipur today and have discussions with Debbarma and other leaders of his party regarding constitutional solution to the various issues in connection to the development of the tribal section of people.
Earlier Debbarman had told the media that AK Mishra would be reaching Agartala by May 8 next.
However, the visit was postponed in view of the ethnic clashes in Manipur as the Centre’s focus shifted towards that and the meeting had to be rescheduled.
Debbarman then said, it was a genuine situation and hence they would wait for the next date.
Meantime, today the state Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha when asked about the cancellation of the visit of interlocutor AK Mishra, he said that ‘there is no news from the centre that the interlocutor has been appointed.’
He added that he had seen the news about visit of interlocutor only in the newspapers and if he comes then is welcome.
The Chief Minister said this speaking to reporters in the sideline of a NSS special camp programme at Bijoy Kumar girl’s HS school in Agartala.
Earlier the CPIM had also criticised the TIPRA Motha chief on the same issue regarding the union government officially not declaring the name of the interlocutor.
