Agartala: Feb 09: The National Election Commission has taken special initiatives to facilitate the voting of all the voters who are above 80 and those who are Divyangan. Based on the application, a team of the commission is reaching their homes. Those over 80 and disabled can exercise their democratic rights by sitting at home. Divyang people can also avail this benefit in the same way.
Accordingly, door-to-door polling of above 80 and disabled voters has started from Thursday. Door-to-door polling of above 80 years and Divyang voters of 8 assembly constituencies under Sadar subdivision has started. Poll workers are going door to door to collect votes from those who have applied for this facility in specific Form 12D-Application form. In this case each team consists of two polling officers, one microobserver, one videographer and one class IV employee. The Sector Officer and BLO gave directions to the poll workers. The party took votes in this way from 9 am to 5 pm. Voters above 80 and disabled welcomed this initiative of the Election Commission. They are happy to exercise their right to vote at home. Centennial women also exercise their right to vote on this day from their homes. At the end of the voting, everyone indicated the exercise of their rights by showing their fingers.
