Agartala: Feb 06: “When you had no one, I was there and this is what I came to Tripura”, said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. On Monday, Mamata Banerjee embarked on a two-day visit to the state for election campaign. He first greeted the people of the state as he set foot at the MBB airport.
He said when the BJP was unilaterally oppressing Tripura, no one was with the people of Tripura. Mamata Banerjee said that Trinamool Congress All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Sangsad Dola Sen and many leaders have come under attack in the state of Tripura. This is not Mamata Banerjee’s first visit to Tripura. Mamata Banerjee said that she worked with Santosh Mohan in Tripura when there was Congress in Tripura.
He said with emotion that day, Tripura is like my home. So Tripura is not new to me. Tripura had relations with West Bengal and will continue to do so in the days to come. The people of Tripura are dear to us. Come to Tripura and speak your own language. I can cook like myself. So Tripura belongs to us. This is how Mamata Banerjee explained. On this day, Mamata Banerjee was taken from the airport to Udaipur Tripureshwari Temple through tight security. Trinamool Congress All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Pradesh Trinamool Congress President Piyush Kanti Biswas, MP Sushmita Dev, Rajeev Banerjee were also present. He will participate in the road show in Agartala city on Tuesday; will address the people of the state.
