Agartala: Jan 19: First round of talks on seat sharing between Left Front and Indian National Congress took place in MLA hostel number 1 in Agartala on Tuesday.
Congress state president Birajit Sinha, CPIM state secretary and former MP Jitendra Chowdhury, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, Ex MLA Asish Kumar Saha, former MP and Left Front convenor Narayan Kar and few other leaders were present in the meeting that continued for more than one-and-a-half hours.
Thought the parties could come to any final agreement but viewed that more talks would take place and soon come to some conclusion.
They also discussed on the present political situation and viewed that the misrule of the BJP has bring them together and their lone priority is to ensure the defeat of BJP and hoped that TIPRA Motha will join their unity.
