As part of its campaign for zero poll violence, the office of the CEO Tripura on the eve of Poush Sankranti organizing Rangoli competition across the poll bound Tripura.
Chief Secretary JK Sinha and Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte was present at the State Level Rangoli Utsav that took place in front of the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in capital Agartala.
The event is part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme organised by the Election Commission of India undertaken to educate the electors regarding procedure relating to registration of name in Electoral Roll, correct of their existing particulars in Electoral Roll and deletion of name of shifted and deceased family members.
CEO Tripura claimed that at least three lakh women are participating in the programme and the message has been shared among 10 lakh families in order to make the ensuing general Election to Tripura Legislative Election 2023 a peaceful and violence free.
The Chief Electoral Officer, had taken various initiatives and on 31st December, 2022 two missions namely Mission Zero Poll Violence’ and ‘Mission 929’ have been launched.
The campaign is also for ‘Peaceful Election’, ‘Communal Harmony’ and ‘Accessible Election’.
As a part of these Missions, all the Returning Officers have been conducting Assembly Constituency wise sensitization workshop involving representatives from political parties, eminent persons, police, social workers, media, CAPF officials.
