Agartala: Jan 11: The 10,323 layoffs in the final cabinet before the assembly elections were significant for teachers. The sacked teachers were hoping that a final decision might be taken in the cabinet meeting.
But on Wednesday, the Under Secretary of the Education Department issued a statement saying that the State Government has decided to form an Advisory Committee to provide recommendations to the State Government to resolve the issue of dismissed teachers as a result of the May 5, 2014 judgment and order passed by the High Court. The committee will positively submit its recommendations to the state government on or before March 31. The committee includes Tripura High Court Justice AB Pal, lawyers Chandrasekhar Sinha and Prasenjit Biswas. As a result, the hope of the dismissed teachers was once again cut short by this decision. Experts believe that the decision will have a lot of impact ahead of the upcoming assembly elections because former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Dev also formed the committee in this way. Later there were 10,323 complaints that nothing was reported.
