Agartala: Jan 09: The Ministry of Small, Small and Medium Industries has allocated Rs 8,000 crore more than last year in the budget for the northeastern states in the current financial year. Assam and Sikkim have shown great success in the last few years in terms of Ministry allocations. Union Minister of Small, Small and Medium Industries Narayan Rane said this in no uncertain terms at a press conference today. He claimed that Rs 68 thousand crore were allocated for the North Eastern region in the financial year 2021-22 which has increased to 76 thousand crores this year.
On this day, he said, he has come to Tripura to review the development up to the grass root level with the allocated funds of the ministry. It shows that the North-East region has been doing great work lately. According to him, in the last financial year, all the allocated money was spent by the states of the region. In this case, the average income of people in Sikkim has increased to Rs 4 lakh. Work is going on at a fast pace in Assam. In the case of Tripura some issues have been discussed with the Chief Minister. In it, some plans were discussed in detail.
According to him, the potential for rapid growth in the tourism sector is high. As a result, more importance should be given to the tourism sector. As an example, he pointed out that 95 percent of the total government revenue in Goa comes from tourism. According to him, Tripura has set a target of raising the average income to two lakhs in the next three years. Because, the Prime Minister wants, which state should have an average income lower than the national average. Currently, the average income in Tripura is Rs 1.8 lakh, he said.
