Agartala: Jan 05: The central government is working for the welfare of the people of the backward parts of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched various developmental schemes for the development of the people belonging to castes, tribes, other backward classes and minorities in the state of Tripura along with the rest of the country. All these projects are being implemented on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Bikash throughout the country. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Atawale said this today at a press conference organized at the conference hall of the Gurkha Population Welfare Department.
According to him, from the financial year 2018-19 till now, 21 thousand 462 students belonging to scheduled caste of Tripura have been given post matric scholarship. 42.22 crore has been spent for this. Pre-matric scholarship has been given to 10 thousand students. 2 crore 75 lakhs have been spent for this. Likewise, the central government has equally worked for the development of the backward people of other parts.
He said that bank accounts have been opened to 9 lakh 42 thousand poor families of Tripura since 2014 under the Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana. Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, since 2015 till now 23 lakh 79 thousand poor people of Tripura have been given low interest loans. 2 lakh 84 thousand families have been given free gas cylinders under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. 1 lakh 93 thousand families have benefited under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
He claimed that today a review meeting was held with the officials of Social Welfare and Social Education, SC, ST, OBC Welfare Department on the development program of the people of this part. All these facts are known from the review of the meeting. From all these data it is clear that during these five years the development programs implemented for the economically backward people of Tripura have not been implemented in such a short period of time by any previous government.
He said that social upliftment of Tripura has also taken place at present. Due to which various social crimes have also decreased. Child marriage is prevented. A drug-free self-reliant Tripura is emerging. Regarding the development of elderly people and disabled people in Tripura, he said that there are currently 4 homes for the protection of elderly people in Tripura.
The Union Minister of State said that for the protection of the elderly, assistance will be given from the Central Government to build 1 Old Age Home in each district of Tripura. That is why he called on various NGOs to come forward to implement this program. He also told reporters that more than 11,000 disabled people of Tripura have been helped with various moving goods. According to him, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked with special importance in these 5 years to improve the financial condition of the people of Tripura. The development of Tripura will be worked on by inventing more new projects in the coming days as well. Efforts will be made to make Tripura a model state in the whole country. More advanced pilot projects will be implemented in Tripura using modern technology. He urged the people of Tripura to stand by the government for the implementation of these programmes. Dr. Following the ideals and principles of BR Ambedkar, more advanced projects are being thought of for the welfare of financially backward people.
