Agartala: Dec 10: The Chief Minister visited the old Kshetra Mohan Academy in Shanti Para area of Agartala on Saturday. Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Mayor Deepak Majumder, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan, Education Department Secretary Sharadendu Chowdhury, Higher Education Director NC Sharma, School Education Director Bimbisbar Bhattacharya and others were present. Kshetra Mohan Academy has a good reputation since long. Many who passed out of this school have since become established. They are currently in different places of the country and abroad. But unfortunately the previous government did not take any initiative for proper maintenance of Kshetra Mohan Academy. Shantipara Club has fixed the academy in several phases.
The school is in great demand in such a beautiful location within the city. But it is not being used properly. This academy is under the Ministry of Education. Finally, the Chief Minister discussed the school with the Education Minister. A decision was taken to restore the Kshetra Mohan School and promote it through English medium. The government has started working in that direction. He also said that there have been pre-discussions to change the English medium. There are many places which are currently occupied. They will be restored, he said. Local residents are happy with this decision of the government. Because the Chief Minister expressed the opinion that the boys and girls of the area will progress further in the field of education if the school is opened. The government is giving special importance to the education sector. And the Chief Minister opined that the students will find more original direction in the field of education.
