Agartala: Dec 05: The Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) organized a two day sit-in demonstration in Delhi on 5th and 6th December to press their demand for Greater Tipraland. Over 1500 party leaders and workers join today’s mass gathering at Jantar Mantar.
TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman said they organized a similar two day sit-in demonstration in Delhi last year. This time they submit a memorandum to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to accept ‘Greater Tipraland’ demand. He further said thousands of indigenous Tiprasas from all the parts of the state join the decision makers in the power corridors of the national capital to listen their lawful and constitutional demand and to show the true spirit and power of THANSA.
The party is agitating for Greater Tipraland to achieve more autonomy and political power for the tribals, who constitute one third of Tripura’s four million population.
