Agartala: Nov 13: Convoy of BJP ST Morcha national president Samir Orang was alleged attacked by TIPRA Motha supporters in Barmura under Khowai district Saturday evening.
Security forces had to fire five rounds in the air to disperse the attackers said Orang, a MP and who was accompanied by Tripura BJP Janajati Morcha chief Bikash Debbarma and TTAADC Executive Member Bidyut Debbarma.
They were returning from Kanchanpur in northern Tripura when TIPRA Motha supporters who were returning after attending the mass gathering in Agartala had created chaos in the road and as the convoy of the MP was trying to pass that spot were attacked in which one of the vehicles was badly damaged and police had to fire to disperse the attackers.
BJP condemned the incident and Orang said that as the police fired so a big incident could be avoided and added that TIPRA Motha has already started targeting BJP as the election is approaching.
