Agartala: Nov 11: In yet another success in its fight against drug the Ranirbazar police station under Jirania subdivision in West Tripura district of Tripura nabbed two persons along with a truck in which they were trafficking dry marijuana hidden under rubber sheets.The weighing of the seized marijuana is 2055 kilograms and its price is around ₹3 crores said police.
Police had specific information that a vehicle with registration RJ 18 GB 4272 which was coming from Agartala side was carrying some contraband items and accordingly officer incharge of Ranirbazar police station with his troops last night has laid a trap and stopped the vehicle, during search the packets of marijuana was found under the rubber sheets.
This is one of the biggest success of the state police in its fight against drug as it was being transported out of the state.
The driver of the truck Ashwani and his assistant Bhanupratap – both residents of UP were detained by police and are being interrogated to get more information regarding the gang engaged with the trafficking of drugs. Police has registered a case under NDPS Act against them.
