Agartala: Nov 07: Tripura has many potential areas in overall development. This government has taken appropriate initiatives for the development of the state by utilizing these potential areas. Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha said this in a high-level meeting with a five-member delegation led by NITI Aayog member dr.V K Saraswat at the secretariat today.
He said the development of North Eastern states is accelerating due to the adoption of Act East policy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for overall development of North Eastern states. During the discussion, the Chief Minister sought NITI Aayog’s cooperation to lift the port-based ban on exporting finished rubber from Tripura to Bangladesh.
In the meeting NITI Aayog Member Dr. Bk directly mentioned the huge potential for development in the field of horticultural flowers and rubber cultivation in the state. He expressed interest in setting up a Center of Excellence on Rubber and Bamboos in Tripura. He advised the state to pay special attention to the adoption of development strategies along with planning.
In the meeting, Senior Adviser of Niti Aayog, Rajiv Sen, presented an outline of Tripura’s current status, achievements, challenges, potential aspects of development and the things to be done to accelerate development.
