Agartala: Mar 22: In a significant political development, approximately 600 voters from 102 working-class families across various regions of the state have switched their allegiance from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The transition occurred during a formal gathering at the state BJP headquarters, where the newcomers were warmly received by state BJP General Secretary Amit Rakshit.
The diverse group of voters hails from different corners of the state, including Gomati district’s Damchara, Panisagar, and Udaipur, as well as Unakoti district and the North district. Their collective decision to join the BJP reflects a growing sentiment in favor of the party, which has positioned itself as a catalyst for development and progress under its current leadership.
Amit Rakshit emphasized that the BJP transcends traditional party colors and stands united in its commitment to governance and growth. As the state gears up for electoral battles, this influx of new members adds momentum to the BJP’s campaign machinery.
