Agartala: Feb 17: The much-awaited 32nd annual program organized by Dakshini, a prominent cultural organization in the state, is set to captivate audiences on February 18 and 19. The event will take place at Hall No. 2 of Rabindra Bhavan, where an array of cultural festivities awaits.
At 4 pm, Dakshini will kick off a vibrant procession that will wind its way through various streets of the city, culminating at Rabindra Bhavan. The procession aims to promote and celebrate the art of recitation.
As part of its tradition, Dakshini will bestow the prestigious Hemant Smriti Shikkhak Samman and Dakshini Samman awards. This year, retired teacher Shri Ranjit Kumar Debnath and distinguished personality Shri Sanjay Kar will receive these accolades.
The evening of February 19 promises a mesmerizing recitation program by Dakshini’s talented artists. Their renditions will weave magic, captivating the audience. Dr. Noni Gopal Chakraborty’s play, inspired by Mymensingh Geetika, will take center stage. Artists including Shubhra Dhar, Pushpal Chakraborty, and Pranab Saha will bring this captivating production to life. Accompanying the performances, Soumyendra Nandi will provide the enchanting background music throughout the program.
