Agartala: Feb 11: In a recent operation, the Agartala Railway Police, in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP), arrested three Indian nationals and three Bangladeshi nationals at the Agartala railway station. The individuals were attempting to board the Kanchanjunga Express train bound for Kolkata.
While the specific reasons for their apprehension have not been disclosed, it is suspected that the arrests may be related to illegal immigration or other unlawful activities. The arrested individuals, along with two Indian agents who were facilitating their travel, have been handed over to the GRP Agartala for further legal action.
The incident highlights the ongoing efforts by authorities to maintain security and prevent illegal activities within the railway jurisdiction. Tripura, with its porous border with Bangladesh, remains a region of concern, and such operations play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of train passengers and curbing cross-border criminal activities.
