Agartala: Jan 28: Domestic was help arrested for stealing valuable things today at the house of Bhati Abhaynagar resident Dr. Indranil Nandi. Jamuna Bhattacharjee was hired a maid of West Bhubaneswar to look after the elderly mother and grandmother in September last year. Since then various things in the house started missing. Since there is no male person in the house, Jamuna is the only one who stays at home to take care of the two.
Later, in Indranil’s wedding ceremony, his and one of his sister’s groom and sister’s son’s necklaces went missing. And the money kept in the cupboard goes missing. Suspicious of Jamuna, Indranil kept a mobile in video recording mode in her bedroom. Jamuna’s exploits were caught there, along with her mother, who saw through the window the scene of opening the cupboard and removing the money. Jamuna was brought to the New Capital Complex police station on Sunday morning. Sushanta Dev, office in-charge of New Capital Complex police station said, after interogation Jamuna Bhattacharjee, an expensive laptop with 24 thousand 565 cash rupees and a necklace and two pairs of earrings were recovered from her house. She will be taken to court today and remand will be applied for, police said.
