Agartala, December 24: Government’s vision is to transform the state into a medical hub. Tripura Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, said that at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala on Sunday addressing the gathering during observance of National Dentist Day 2023 and the 22nd Annual Dental Conference of the Indian Dental Association, Tripura state branch.
Serving as both the Chief Minister and Health Minister, Dr. Saha reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing health facilities for the people of the state.
He highlighted ongoing efforts, including substantial infrastructure development, manpower improvements, and the establishment of new facilities to achieve this objective.
Dr. Saha proudly announced the establishment of a dental college a year ago, aligning with the state’s two medical colleges.
The dental college boasts state-of-the-art facilities and the latest in modern dental technology to ensure graduating students are well-equipped.
Drawing from his background as a maxillofacial surgeon and former faculty member at a medical college, Dr. Saha stressed the importance of teaching faculty staying updated on modern medical systems and technology.
He urged them to impart this knowledge to students while motivating them to contribute meaningfully to the nation through healthcare services. The event, organized by the National Oral Health Programme, National Health Mission, Tripura, in collaboration with the Indian Dental Association, Tripura state branch, marked a significant step toward realizing the state’s ambition to become a medical hub.
