Agartala: Oct 14: “Many people had asked me why I am going to the political rally, I told them that I am going to meet my Tiprasa brothers and sisters and for which I don’t need anyone’s permission. I also came to meet Maharaja and I also want to give this message that I am along with the Tiprasa in their issue”, said Conrad K Sangma, CM Meghalaya. The problem of the indigenous people of Northeast have been raised by various leaders including Bijoy Hrangkhawl, Zoramthanga or P A Sangma – the path was different but the destination was same. I am not here to say which is the right or wrong path but those voices was to protect our land, culture, youths, mothers, sisters and the future generations. I am not against anyone because we have to live together in harmony in India but only when all including the North East develop then the growth will be inclusive. But if some want to destroy our land, tribe, community then we cannot stay silent. when I was very young my mother told me a story about her grandfather who was fighting for Meghalaya Hill state and then her grandmother had asked her grandfather why he was fighting for this and he told her that maybe he will not earn anything but his grandchildren shall enjoy the fruits and similarly today the fight being fought here will be enjoyed by the future generations. The tribal committees of this region are link and I could understand the speech by the leaders here, so we have to support each other and come forward to help each other. We have to be unified so that the voices of Bubagra and yours is raised in the Parliament for a constitutional solution. A team of MLAs from Meghalaya are with me who for the first are here. This is strong message of unity from the NE. We are are not against any community but to show our solidarity to the cause of the indigenous community and to protect our community.
