Agartala: Sept 14: Experimental engine will run on Akhaura-Agartala railway on Thursday. The experimental engine will run from Gangasagar station to Shivnagar zero line, bordering Tripura state. If everything goes well then rail communication between the two countries will start very soon. It should be noted that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are scheduled to inaugurate this railway line virtually. It is expected that the communication system and trade services of the two countries will be improved through the connection of this railway. Indian contractor Texmeco Rail and Engineering Limited is working on the construction of this railway. 6.78 km of this 12.24 km long railway has fallen on the part of Bangladesh. The rest is in India. It is known that this railway will run from Nishchintapur to Gangasagar for the time being. Testing work is going on in the state and in Bangladesh. Rail communication between the two countries will start after the final stage of the test.
