Agartala, May 20: A mother of two and half years old has eloped with a married man at Paschimpara under Kalamchoura police station, police said on Saturday.
The woman has also taken away gold ornaments of Rs. 7 lakh along with huge cash. The woman identified as Jahanara Begum was married to Saddam Hussain of Paschimpara of Madhya Boxanagar around four-year back and has one girl child. Only six month ago, Saddam went to Saudi Arabia to work.
Before going to Saudi Arabia, Saddam had purchased one mobile phone for her wife. “Ever since Jahanara got a mobile, she remained busy with it and used to talk to several people. I had no idea if she had any relationship with others in absence of her husband. Later, I came to know that she had eloped with Sabuj Miah of Ashapara of Kalamchoura police station”, Saddam’s mother told the police.
She told the police Jahanara has also taken around ten bhari of gold and cash around two lakh. “My son who had worked in Saudi Arabia for three year has brought gold for the family. All the gold ornaments were taken by Jahanara”, she said.
“A complaint regarding the fleeing of a woman and mother of a two-and-half year old mother was lodged with police and we are investigating the matter”, said a senior police officer over telephone.
