Agartala: Nov 07: According to the decision of the state government, a place has been earmarked for the resettlement of Bru refugees at Durgabari ADC village under Shanti Bazaar sub-division. In the past, the administrative people had to face various obstacles to determine this place. Residents of the area are obstructing the resettlement of refugees.
According to local residents, the local people depend on this forest for their livelihood. Local residents are spending some kind of day by collecting bamboo, vegetables and wood from the forest. In the meantime, the resettlement of Bru refugees in this area will face difficulties. The locals are constantly obstructing this. On Monday, DCM Manoj Pal, Bagafa Forest Ranger Sanjeev Sarkar, Shantir Bazar Police Station OC Biswajit Derba and other security department personnel went to Durpa Bari ADC Village for demarcation.
All went to Durgabari ADC village and talked to the local people for a long time. Finally, as the people of the area did not provide any assistance to the procession, everyone returned from the scene. A tense atmosphere was created at the scene for some time. Later, the leadership of OC Biswajit Derma came to control the situation.
