Agartala: Nov 07: After Bishalgarh Teliamura, Khowai became politically heated on Monday. Alleging that CPIM’s campaign was destroyed on this day, workers and supporters blocked the Khoai-Agartala road in Khowai Tant Choumuhani area on Monday morning. When the information reached the ruling party, the situation in the entire Khowai took a fiery turn. According to the details of the incident, on November 7, on the day of the great November Revolution, the CPIM sat on roadblocks to protest against the destruction of propaganda materials and the burning of Lenin’s portrait.
The Great November Revolution Day was celebrated by the CPIM Khowai Sub-Division Committee at various places in the Khowai Sub-Division area. November Revolution Day was celebrated in front of CPIM party office in Khowai Tant Chaumuhani area like other places of Khowai sub-division at seven in the morning that day. Shortly after the celebration, a group of miscreants allegedly set fire to CPIM posters and Leylin’s portrait. In protest, CPIM workers and supporters blocked the Khowai-Agartala road at Tant Choumuhani area at 9 am on Monday at the initiative of the Khowai sub-divisional committee. In this regard, the MLA said that on the occasion of the Great November Revolution Day, it starts from 6:30 in the morning.
After celebrating the Great November Revolution Day at Khowai Tant Chaumuhani first, when they went to celebrate this program in another area, they came to know that a group of miscreants of the ruling party led by Bhaskar Bhowmik, member of Paschim Ganki Gram Panchayat in the area. Later, they rushed to the spot and blocked the road and demanded the administration to create an environment for democracy and the right to organize. The blockade caused massive traffic jams on both sides of the road. Police and TSR forces rushed to the blockade. The protestors were arrested by the police and taken to the Dhalabila police line. Currently the situation is under the control of the police.
