Agartala: Jan 30: Candidates of various parties submitted their nomination papers to the Returning Officer on the last day of nomination papers for the Tripura Assembly elections. Today, Sudip Roy Burman 6 again submitted his nomination papers as Congress candidate in Agartala constituency. On this day, Congress candidate Ashish Kumar Saha in 8 Town Baradwali constituency and Congress candidate Gopal Roy in 9 Banmalipur also submitted their nomination papers. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Rajkumar Sarkar has also submitted his nomination papers in Abharghat constituency.
Congress candidate Gopal Roy was the first to submit nomination papers on Monday. On this day, Sudip Roy Barman submitted nomination papers to Tarit Chakma, the returning officer of the District Administrator’s office.
Later, while facing the journalists, he said that the people of Tripura are looking forward to a new dawn. He said that he will contest as a Congress candidate to fulfill this hope of the people of Tripura.
He claimed that common people have understood the current social situation. Sudip Roy Barman expressed his hope that he will exercise his democratic rights by taking the right decision in the elections on February 16. On the other hand, Ashish Kumar Saha submitted his nomination papers and said with confidence that the common people will exercise their right to vote in the direction of change. He hoped that the Election Commission would take appropriate security measures for the smooth completion of the polling phase.
